Located between Barcelona and the Costa Brava, Sant Pol de Mar is the essence of the Mediterranean in its purest form, one of the most charming villages on the Catalan coast and with a seafaring past.
The town has an excellent train connection with Barcelona, with more than 40 daily connections and offers a wide variety of services and experiences.
Its identity is reflected in every corner: the architecture of its buildings, its gastronomy, its fairs and popular festivals that reinforce its authentic character, making it a destination with a lot of history and roots.
Located on the coast of Maresme, Sant Pol de Mar is an ideal destination to enjoy the sea and the charm of a coastal town.
GO TO SANT POL DE MAR
You have several options to get to Sant Pol de Mar, either by car or public transport.
To get to Sant Pol de Mar by car: take the C-32 freeway and exit at exit 117. From there, you are only five minutes away from the town center. From Barcelona, the journey takes between 30 and 45 minutes.
To get to Sant Pol de Mar by train: if you do not have a car or want to avoid it, the best option is to opt for the suburban train. Lines R1 (to Calella or Blanes) and RG1 (to Portbou) stop in Sant Pol de Mar. From Barcelona, the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes. You only need a 5-zone ticket or select Sant Pol de Mar from the vending machine.
The town has several beaches, but the most famous is Les Barques beach. You will find others like:
Sant Pol de Mar hides some coves that are true jewels of natural beauty.
It is an isolated beach 29 meters wide and 1,258 meters long. In high season this beach is usually crowded.
Platja de les Barques is an urban beach 50 meters wide and 347 meters long. In high season this beach is usually very crowded.
Spectacular setting with an emblematic rock that juts into the sea. It is somewhat crowded in summer, so it is ideal to enjoy it in low season.
Accessible through an underpass and with parking nearby. It has a quiet environment and natural surroundings.
